The Manne Foundation Homeless Prevention Program was established to prevent homelessness by providing services and legal assistance to those facing impending eviction. With its partners at HOPE South Florida and the Legal Aid Service of Broward County, the Foundation deploys a team approach to preventing individuals and families from losing their homes and becoming part of the growing number of those living on the streets.
HOPE South Florida is known for providing hope for the hopeless and homes for the homeless. This organization serves as one of the Manne Foundation Homeless Prevention Program partners. HOPE South Florida and/or Legal Aid Service of Broward County determines an individual’s or family’s eligibility for acceptance into the Manne Foundation Homeless Prevention Program. They evaluate an individual’s or family’s causes for potential homelessness and whether the individual or family meets the financial criteria for admission to the Program. Once an individual or family is accepted into the Program, HOPE South Florida will provide case management services on its own or through its fellow providers. The services include housing, employment assistance, mental health counseling, substance abuse, and other services that will aid the individual or family in hopefully becoming self-sufficient once again. In addition, they will refer the individual or family to the Legal Aid Service of Broward County to address any legal services needed.
Legal Aid Service of Broward County works in partnership with the Manne Foundation Homeless Prevention Program and HOPE South Florida to prevent homelessness by providing free civil legal services to eligible parties who are referred by HOPE South Florida or who come directly through the Legal Aid Service of Broward County. In addition to providing legal services, the Legal Aid Service of Broward County will seek the assistance of volunteers and law students to assist on cases enrolled in the Program. This protocol will provide individuals and families with the best possible opportunity to avoid losing their homes.
The partnership between the Manne Foundation Homeless Prevention Program, HOPE South Florida, and the Legal Aid Service of Broward County, lends assistance with compassion, dignity, and integrity to help those in need. This partnership provides the best possible opportunity for these families and individuals to avoid homelessness.
